Introduction:

The Geometry Department was established in the early 1980s from the former Geometry Group. Its members mainly work in  convex and discrete geometry. The main research areas include: approximation of convex bodies, properties of lattices, packings, coverings, graphs, hypergraphs on finite point sets, their decompositions, colorings, drawings and other representations of graphs, and crossing numbers of graphs.

The department’s seminar, the Geometry Seminar, is held during the academic term on Fridays at 2 p.m., on a weekly basis.
