Introduction:

The Graph Theory Department was established in 2021 by dividing the long-standing Discrete Mathematics Department into three parts. We continue to jointly organize the institute's combinatorial seminars: the combinatorics seminar, the extremal set theory seminar, and the combinatorial search seminar.

The members of the department study various properties of graphs. On the one hand, they study fundamental properties, such as colorings, extremal questions, and Ramsey problems. On the other hand, they study topological questions, such as planarity and embeddability into other surfaces. Furthermore, they study graph-like structures, e.g., directed graphs, hypergraphs, ordered graphs, random graphs, and geometrically defined graphs.

Our staff consists of senior and young researchers investigating these questions.
