The 66th International Mathematical Olympiad was held in Australia between July 10 and 20, 2025. The Hungarian team finished 14th among the 110 participating countries. All of our competitors came home with medals: Mátyás Bodor and Ábel Szakács won gold medals, Pál Czanik, Martin Holló and Boldizsár Varga won silver medals, while István Ádám Molnár won a bronze medal. The teams from China, the USA and South Korea finished in the top three places. The leader of the Hungarian team was Viktor Harangi, senior research fellow at our institute, and the deputy leader and preparation coordinator was Sándor Dobos, teacher at the Fazekas Mihály Gymnasium in Budapest. In two years' time, the competition will be held in Hungary. An enthusiastic team at the Rényi Institute has been working on the preparations for some time now, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Innovation.
