László Lovász is "Test of Time Award" winner

The IEEE Symposium on Foundations of Computer Science (FOCS 2021) was taking place virtually February 7-10, 2022.

The Test-of-Time Awards ceremony was held on February 8th.

The 2021 Real-Time Systems Test-of-Time (ToT) Award recognized papers published in the Proceedings of the Annual IEEE Symposium on Foundations of Computer Science. The target years for the Test of Time Awards in 2021 are for papers presented at the FOCS conferences in 1991, 2001, and 2011, which are each considered for separate awards.

Three types of awards are given:

• The Real-Time Systems Test-of-Time Award, which recognizes papers published on any venue;
• The RTSS Influential Paper Award, which recognizes papers published at RTSS;
• The RTAS Influential Paper Award, which recognizes papers published at RTAS.

The Uriel Feige, Shafi Goldwasser, László Lovász, Shmuel Safra, Mario Szegedy: Approximating Clique is Almost NP-Complete (FOCS 1991) paper received a Test of Time Award.
