Postdoc Seminar of the Erdős Center

Description

On algebraic curves, a general line bundle has at most one non vanishing cohomology and the loci where this property fails are the subjext of the classical Brill-Noether theory.
Such strong results fail already for vector bundles on algebraic surfaces.
Progress have been made to understand, under adequate numerical conditions, the cohomology of a general Gieseker stable sheaf on surfaces of negative and zero Kodaira dimension.
In this talk, we give an overview of such results, and show how the strategy developed by Coskun—Nuer—Yoshioka for K3 and abelian surfaces, based on wall-crossing in Bridgeland stability, can be adapted to Enriques surfaces.

The first 45 minutes of the seminar will be dedicated to providing some background and an introduction to the topic.

People who are interested but unable to attend in person will have the opportunity to join us via Zoom.
