Geometric Summaries: Core Sets and Beyond

With the emergence of large data sets, there has been much focus on computing 
summaries of the data and working with them. This talk discusses methods for 
computing geometric summaries, which preserve various geometric and metric 
properties of the data set. Although the talk will focus on recent developments 
on core sets, it will also discuss other techniques.
