Abstract:

In the case of isolated normal surface singularities the resolution graph of the singularity is the plumbing graph of the link at the same time, and the link coincides with the boundary of the Milnor fibre. For non-isolated singularities the plumbing graph of the boundary of the Milnor fibre can be constructed from the resolution graph of the normalization of the singularity by the algorithm of András Némethi and Ágnes Szilárd. We give a different and very simple algorithm, which works in the special case, when the link is the image of an immersion from $ S^3 $ to $ S^5 $.
