SEVENTH INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL IN POTENTIAL THEORY
June 29 - July 6, 2008, Baja, Hungary

ANNOUNCEMENT

Continuing a good tradition, the SSPT - Summer School in Potential Theory will be organized also this year, now for the 7th occasion.

SSPT7 will be held in Baja (South of Hungary) on the premises of the J. Eövös College of Baja, between June 29 - July 6.

The aim of the summer school is to provide detailed explanation, with proofs and background material, to those who wish to learn the subject. Lectures are to be given on not necessarily brand new results, but are aimed at describing various chapters of this field. Potential theory is nowadays used in differential equations, approximation theory, probability theory, functional analysis, metric space theory, geometry ... and a number of interesting applications and branches of the theory are known. We are open to all subject areas.

Lectures and lecture series will be given by internationally acknowledged experts. However, PhD students and young researchers also have the opportunity to give a lecture on either their own research, or on a topic chosen in agreement with the organizers. All those wishing to talk please consult the organizers at your earliest convenience.

Accomodation for the participants will be available in the brand new dormitories of the Eötös College. The price of these dormitories for single accomodation is 5000 HUF/night, for double accomodation is 4000 HUF/night/person.

Registration fee is 20.000 HUF /80 euro/, to be paid on spot. There is a canteen in the college where a full lunch is only 550 HUF/person.

Financial assistance is available, upon request, through the organizers. Priority is given to young fellows and participants from less well financed regions.

The SSPT usually attracts 20-30 people, and porvides a friendly environment for discussion, collaborative work and learning the subject. The conference language is English. Social programs will be announced later, but these form the integral part of the summer school and will be scheduled in the program.
