Transfer from Budapest Airport

If you don't have a lot of luggage, the cheapest (and sometimes fastest) way is to use the regular (blue) bus service that for the price of a regular ticket (230 HUF) takes you to the end station of underground (Metro) line No 3.
Bus No. 200 leaves from terminal 2 every 10-15 minutes.
Bus No. 93 leaves from terminal 1 every 30 minutes (but no. 200 also stops at terminal 1).
You can buy the tickets at the airport or from the driver. Service runs till midnight, but keep in mind that the last "metro" leaves at 23.10 (there are night buses afterwards).

For more information on public transportation see BKV

The taxis you see when walking out of the airport (Zóna Taxi) work with a fixed transfer price (4100 HUF for Pest, 4300 for Buda). Their prices are lower for the trip back. You can also call by phone a taxi company working with fixed rates, such as Taxi2000 (2 000 000), Fôtaxi (2 222 222) or 6X6 Taxi (2 666 666). All of these companies will send you a car within 10 minutes time and work with a rate that is slightly higher than that of Zóna Taxi.

There is a shuttle service called Airport shuttle, which costs 2990 HUF per person. The shuttle picks you up together with 4-5 other passengers and takes you to the address you give. You may buy your minibus ticket at the counter in the arrival hall (ATM's and exchange bureaus are available at the airport). You may also buy a round trip ticket (about 4990 HUF). Your return trip should be ordered by phone 1 or 2 days before leaving. (phone #: 296-8555). For years this service was the best one, but recently the quality declined (they have less cars, etc.) If you see many people waiting, it is better to take a taxi or a bus.

Arriving by train:

Trains from abroad usually arrive at Keleti railway station. To get to the institute take the metro to Astoria or bus No. 7 to "Ferenciek tere". A single ride ticket costs 230 forints. You can get it at the ticket booth at the metro entrance or several other locations. A booklet of 10 or 20 tickets is cheaper. If you arrive late at night it is better to take a taxi (see above).
