Welcome to the BSM program

Things you should pack

  • All necessary travel documents (make multiple copies!)
  • Passport-sized photos
  • International Student Identity Card
  • Health Insurance Policy Information (to get your residence permit)

Things that are expensive in Hungary (and therefore you should pack)

  • Peanut Butter
  • Deodorant

Things that might make life better

  • Sweat Pants (for wear around the apartment)
  • Slippers (for wear around the apartment)
  • Swimsuit (for going to the baths)

Don't bring

  • Guidebooks (there will likely be many in your apartment already)
  • Hungarian money (it's expensive to exchange in the US--just wait until you get here)
  • School supplies

Note: Hungarian paper is a different size from American paper. If you bring things like binders and expect to buy paper here, the paper probably won't fit into your binders.
